Rodney Sellar

Mr. Sellar is the senior partner at Bayne, Sellar, Boxall. He graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce and from Ottawa University Law School in 1976. He has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1978. In 1989, he was certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in criminal litigation and has maintained this designation with the Certification Board annually since that date.
Mr. Sellar taught criminal law at the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course, has lectured at numerous Law Society educational courses, and has been a guest lecturer in Criminal Law and Trial Advocacy at the University of Ottawa Law School.
Mr. Sellar has over 30 years of extensive and successful experience representing clients charged with criminal offences and related litigation. He represents defendants at all levels of the Ontario Courts, the Supreme Court of Canada, Court Martial and the Court Martial Appeal Court. Rod has represented clients under investigation and at trial for offences including murder, sexual assault, trafficking and production of drugs, money laundering, extradition and driving offences. He has wide experience representing large corporations who require advice on criminal issues.
